  • CELEBRATING 5 YEARS in the Cambridge Main Street District

Vintage 414 -- often referred to as Vin by its devoted patrons -- has been a staple in Downtown Cambridge's restaurant scene since 2020. The "ladies of Vin," as we lovingly call them, comprise a brilliant team of culinary and wine-pairing experts, including co-founders Natalie Brewer James and Emily Salisbury, and Colleen Hughes.

Located at 414 Race Street, Vin boasts wine, beer and specialty foods, in its warm and welcoming bar, restaurant and retail space. Vintage 414 offers a diverse wine and beer selection -- each hand-selected by the team -- at varying price points. With its carefully curated seasonal menus, special wine pairing dinners, Wine Tasting Wednesdays and Three Course To-Go specials, Vin has earned a special place in the hearts of its patrons.

Vintage 414 is open Wednesday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. More details about their menu and special events can be found at https://www.vintage414.com.

  • A NEW place on Race (with a familiar face)

The Laughing Lotus Gallery is a fresh, but already beloved addition to Downtown Cambridge. Opened just two months ago by Dorchester County native April Goodman, The Laughing Lotus is more than a gallery, it’s a gathering place where art and heart meet.

Located at 450 Race Street, The Laughing Lotus may appear small from the street with its 10-foot-wide front window, but inside it opens up to nearly 2,000 square feet of stunning displays that leave visitors’ jaws dropping. The shop showcases handcrafted work from 30 regional artists across all mediums, including pottery, photography, fiber, sterling silver jewelry, wood, art glass, sea glass, and both traditional and contemporary painting. A curated selection of mid-century modern furniture adds a vintage twist. Art classes, book clubs, and community gatherings round out the energy inside.

April brings over 30 years of retail experience, including ownership of The Mind’s Eye Craft Collection in St. Michaels -- once named one of the 'Top 10 Fine Craft Galleries in the U.S.' by 'Niche' Magazine. Also previously named Cambridge’s 'Hometown Hero' and the Salvation Army 'Volunteer of the Year', April shares a strong sense of purpose with many of the artists she represents. Together, they are committed to using their space not only to showcase art, but to support local nonprofits, host fundraisers, and engage in volunteerism throughout the community.

Please join April and the artists at The Laughing Lotus to celebrate art, connection, and community in Downtown Cambridge.

  • Thomas's Fine Jewelry was opened by brother/sister duo, Thomas and Amanda Robinson, on April 1, 2016 and has been offering high-quality, locally handcrafted fine jewelry, in Downtown Cambridge, ever since.

Originally from Philadelphia, the siblings spent summers and weekends on Maryland's Eastern Shore, in Cambridge, and felt at home in the area. Thomas, a highly skilled goldsmith, who spent many years apprenticing under a bench jeweler, dreamed of opening his own shop one day. Amanda had a passion for small business and a love of jewelry and retail. Combining their passions and skillsets, the pair decided to open a store together, in the historic Lednum building, at 525 Poplar Street.

For more information about available pieces, their jewelry repair, cleaning and engraving services, and shop hours visit https://www.thomassfinejewelry.com.
